This is rather odd since, if he really believes what he says about Jesus and the Scriptures, then he should accept that the Book which both Jesus and his prophet confirmed does include this story!
As for the story about being saved from the fire, it is important to note that the Bible does mention that ‘God delivered him out of Ur of the Chaldeans’. This could simply mean that the story of being saved from the flames was developed out of the biblical statement about Haran dying in the furnace when he was trying to burn his father’s idols. It is also worth pointing out that the Hebrew word for flame or fire can also be used to refer to light and that the biblical account does make it clear that the fire that consumed Haran did not burn him!
